I am Rah-kela, the phonetic spelling of my name 'Rachela' (you may also call me rah rahhhhh) I seek to illustrate truth in a diverse number of ways; in creating and showcasing the abounding beauty and goodness of the divine maker of us all.
I am on the continual pursuit of exploring all the different expressions of creativity, in this I find myself enraptured (and at times overwhelmed) of how glorious and wonderful the earth, its people and that of what we create are. Certainly, not everything is, but there is beauty to be found all around and in us if only we would have the eyes of our heart enlightened, in which to truly see and to experience the world and each other. I believe that we were created in the image of a highly imaginative Creator God and therefore, it is innate within us to create.
I love the way in which one of my favourite authors speaks about creativity;
"Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time. The mind that responds to the intellectual and spiritual values that lie hidden in a poem, a painting, or a piece of music, discovers a spiritual vitality that lifts itself about itself, takes it out of itself, and makes it present to itself on a level of being that did not know it could ever achieve." - Thomas Merton, 'No Man Is An Island'
I invite others along the journey of enjoying the One whom created us and His wild, magnanimous and glorious creation.
I am currently living on The Sunshine Coast, Queensland which is exactly a place that it's name implies. Originally from Sydney, in early 2019, I moved to Brisbane and now for the moment, abundantly blessed to be surrounded by the bush near to the ocean. I enjoy drinking copious amounts of tea, hoarding every essential oil known to man, writing and working on a continuous project called Lola Ziggy, which is a publication and blog that welcomes a community of artists weaving together a diverse tapestry of beauty.
